During my recent work trip to San Francisco, I had the opportunity to share my story on stage with the Pinterest team. However, one thing that caught me off guard was when, off stage, someone asked me this question: “Widi, you’ve accomplished so many amazing things. What else is left on your bucket list? I want to know.”
I pause for a second. I don’t think I have a bucket list. The things I’ve done just come naturally, and I always believe that doing what’s right is right.
As I walk back to the hotel, this question still haunts me. I do have things that I want to achieve. It reminds me of a training I attended about goal-setting. In a team, goals are set in the form of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), which help the team members to focus and consider the big picture. This approach is a combination of a thinking framework and an ongoing discipline exercise.
So, back again with “My Bucket List”. I suppose I still have plenty of things I want to achieve. The big picture is that I want to become an expert in the content and marketing industry. However, there are many ‘unknown’ aspects I still need to learn to achieve this.
To start, I want to learn about the industry from people who have been there for a long time. I believe that by seeking their advice, I can enhance my understanding even further. Fortunately, during my time in San Francisco, I had the chance to meet amazing individuals from the Pinterest team, as well as long-time friends Vicky Del Arenal, Robin Malau, and Awan Yulianto, who were very generous in sharing their wisdom.
Maybe next time you receive my DM, you could share your wisdom with me. I look forward to it.
Ps. Thanks Pragati for the photo
